Enjoy Summer Safely Toolkit

Enjoy Summer Safely toolkit

The assets below can be used by your organisation as part of the government’s #EnjoySummerSafely campaign.

These can be used to encourage people to support the UK’s great tourism sector by booking domestic trips and overnight stays. We want to raise awareness and highlight the industries which have reopened and motivate customers rediscover all that the UK has to offer while reassuring them about the safety measures in place.

Love Culture week | w/c 17 August

To celebrate culture, we will be highlighting: museums, galleries, heritage sites, libraries, cinemas and cultural organisations, big and small, across the UK.

Key moment: Throwback Thursday

On Thursday 20 August, we want you to join us in sharing #ThrowbackThursday snaps from your UK holidays and day trips of the past and say why you can’t wait to visit again.

We’re looking for sandy toes on the beach, childhood museum trips or watching your first film and would love it if you could take a look through the archives for a throwback image of your institution for corporate channels, and encourage the public to do the same.

We are proudly supporting the #EnjoySummerSafely campaign, encouraging people to feel reassured and inspired to explore the great things a holiday at home has to offer this summer.

While we may not be reaching for our passports, we can spend time exploring some of the hidden treasures across the UK, as well as checking out all the available things to see and door on your own doorstep, that we may not have done before.

We want people to feel reassured that they are safe when booking a trip, which is why the new industry standard ‘Good to Go’ has been introduced by VisitEngland for hotels, accommodation providers and visitor attractions to help us feel confident that businesses are adhering to government safety guidance.

We’ve all played a part in lockdown to get us to this point, so whether it’s a day trip, a much needed night away or a week’s break, we are welcoming the public to get out and #EnjoySummerSafely.

We are proudly supporting the #EnjoySummerSafely campaign, and encouraging the public to feel inspired to get out and explore all the great culture right here in the UK that we’ve missed over the last few months.

From museums, galleries and cinemas to open-air theatres, historical palaces and heritage sites, many of the great tourist and visitor attractions have now reopened their doors to the public this summer.

On 20 August we want to fill social media with pictures of British holidays, day trips and all the fabulous culture we have on offer. Can you add a throwback picture of you, perhaps at a UK gallery, beach or museum, with the hashtags #EnjoySummerSafely and #ThrowbackThursday

Just remember, booking in advance is now essential at many places so make sure you check out the visitor guidance before your trip, to ensure you aren’t missing important information. VisitBritain’s ‘Know Before You Go’ page offers plenty of advice so you can prepare and feel reassured before your visit
