What action has the government already taken to improve online safety? 1/ We created the UKCCIS which plays a pioneering role in promoting and championing improvements to child online safety in the UK. 2/ We introduced requirements for commercial online pornography to be inaccessible to under-18s. We expect age verification to be introduced during 2018. 3/ The Home Office has a wide programme of work to tackle illegal activity online. 4/ Content filtering is offered by the ‘big four’ providers - Sky, Virgin Media, Talk Talk and BT and covers the vast majority of UK subscribers.
